School me on robot lawn mowers

IMO, the ship of me worrying about this sailed when Amazon bought irobot and my roomba now has an accurate map of my floorplan readily accessible by any domestic agency who asks for it. Without opening a can of worms on what's possible from either our or another nefarious OGA actor stepping in, this is a "risk" I would be more than willing to "accept" should this thing work as expected and advertised.

Wait until you hear about the mandated "safety" tech they want to put in model year 2027 cars sold here for "driver monitoring" as laid out in the '2021 bipartisan infrastructure" law.

Eying this thread with renewed interest after installation of concrete and metal boundaries in part of my yard.

The lymow looks most interesting to me at the moment.

Why not just get a riding mower?
I can think of a scenario where the Timemaster would come in handy. With bernudagrass it's very easy to chop too low by accident with a long wheelbase mower when mowing areas with bumps, rises, ditches, etc .. A short wheelbase mower follows the curvature of the land better. By following the curvature better scalping is reduced. Scalping bernudagrass will cause a blade to enter the "yellow zone" which is a no no with bernudagrass. Could take weeks to recover. The downside to having short blades is that the deck is also short. This makes cutting tall grass difficult because the tall grass never stands up under the deck because the deck always has the grass bent over. No good. Following the contour of the land will produce a neater lawn. The longer the blade the easier it is to cleanly cut very long grass. Like other things in life pick your compromise.
