IMO that would be a great oil to use in that bike. That exact oil is one I will try in my bike at some point. The owners manual on my R1200CL stated to wait until 6000 miles to use a synthetic, I believe to help fully seat the rings/cylinders on the two cyl bikes. The service writer here at the dealer says he recommends 12k miles. He says he has seen some engines use excessive oil if not broken in properly, a whole other topic. I followed the guy's advice, using BMW 20W-50 conventional oil which is a custom blend from Spectro.
Getting back to the Schaeffer's, I would go 3000 miles more on a quality dino before using the Schaeffers after all I've read and heard about the breaking-in topic. Schaeffers will prevent wear very well. Harley guys use it and like it in their engines. Talk to Mark, the Schaeffer rep here. He probably knows of several folks using it an that app.
