I did not know what "Sbaro" was until saw an article about the chain filing for bankruptcy protection. If it's indeed such an awful food then they deserve to go bankrupt and disappear.

I am surprised it's such a ubiquitous chain and yet I have never seen or paid any attention to it.

I've mostly seen them on the East Coast, but we have it in Chicago, too. And it's true - their food isn't the greatest, although it's been ages since I've eaten in one...

I don't mind their food. It's greasy, heavy and very filling for the price. Nothing special, but definitely not terrible by any means. In other words, if some one offered me a slice or calzone from there I'd happily eat it, but I'd never choose them over other fast food selections.

I've only seen them at locations with very few options like Turnpike service plazas and airports. They seem to be the last vestiges of chains like Sbarro, TCBY, Roy Rogers, etc.

When I was in NYC back in 1988, it seemed like they were every other block or so.

I don't ever go to the food court. Too many teenagers that are acting stupid, rude, and inconsiderate of others. I might backhand one and tell him to pull up his pants.

I think I have eaten at the Sbarro in the Dayton OH airport. Seems like it was about CiCi's grade pizza. My kid probably liked it.

Ditto on the Cici's grade pizza. I think it's overpriced for what it is. If I want fast, greasy, and cheap it's Taco Bell all the way.
