Saturn struts

Who has tried monroe sensa trak struts on a saturn?
I'm going to replace my sons struts. The choices are kyb-gr2 or the monroe sensatraks from rock auto. I've used the kybs before they were ok.

Are they blue? Those came on my wife's car. They're adequate. They have a rep as being softer than KYB, which I can sort of agree with. They probably have 100k on them now and are still doing fine.

Beware aftermarket struts have elongated bolt holes for easy camber adjustment. This also means they are a bear to line up right.

HOWEVER

if you don't mess with your toe alignment, the camber can be measured by toe.

Get a baseline this way before taking your old struts off, then adjust ONLY CAMBER when you're putting it back together so your TOE is straight ahead. Even if you go for a pro alignment afterward this will be useful to get you there. But it's pretty accurate.

You can ALSO use the bubble part of a level directly for camber; probably about a 1/8" shim between the top of the tire and the level should be what you need to get appropriate slightly negative camber. Again, measure what you have before you take it apart and try to match it putting it back together.

I have Monroe's on my wagon, and KYBs on my sedan.
The KYB's are definitely sportier. I do prefer the KYB overall, but there is nothing wrong with the Monroe if you just want a comfy ride.

Don't overlook the Gabriel's that you can get at Autozone since they are often less cost.

They might be the very same strut as the KYB's depending on your application. I know they were a few years ago when I got struts for my car.

I have try them, but not in a Saturn. I just install all four of my Shocks/Struts w/ Sensa-Trac. I really like the comfort I been getting from this shocks. Everything from turning, breaking, and ride have all improve. Besides Monroe throws in everything you need, including reasonable facsimiles of all factory bushings, nuts, bolts and mounts.
