Sad Day. Selling all my beer making equipment

Years ago Huntsville was actually a place where I could have ended up working but thought hard on it and declined
I got stationed here back in 2010. I was told by my detailer under no uncertain terms that I was going to get stationed back in Virginia again after HSV. I decided to stay here and put down some roots. Ironically, Huntsville has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

I have a beer bottle capper that I've never used. Bought it from a neighbour whose wife died from "mad cow disease" and I feel a bit uncomfortable about using it. That's irrational - probably.

I also have a swath of wine making equipment I haven't used in 15 years.

It may be time to get rid of all of it.

What was the style that won the Ribbons
Bock and Wheat. I made Wheat all the time, I knew it was good. The Bock, I was a bit unsure if close to style enough. Two certified judges said it was spot on. My favorite styles are always ales- Mild, Brown, sometimes ESB. I hate what IPA has become, I just won't drink that over hopped, over bitter PNW style drift

On another forum a gentleman had a similar theme. He was selling his motorcycle. I think he was similar in age and he said he’s never not had a motorcycle in the last 45 years.

My thoughts are it’s cool to have been good at something, and it’s not necessary to do everything forever. But I totally understand we are all nostalgic about things.

I haven’t picked up a guitar in maybe 2 years. I feel that if I spent the same time daily as say going to the gym, in 6 mos I’d be good again. But maybe I won’t do that and sell my guitar. It’s from 1988. It’s fallen off a VW bus in NC. I don’t think about it much but when I do it’s similar. It’s ok to move on. 😊

I too have fallen off that bus. 'Cept it's been longer than 2 years. Way longer.

I hear ya. I wish I didn’t become so emotionally attached to things at times. I’d probably have less junk laying around.
