After more than three months since we sold my wife’s TRD Pro 4 runner (her sitting at home with when I leave town for work For a week at a time ) we have finally decided what was best for us.
We were tempted to tread trails we have already beaten down and get another yet again 4 runner,
we were really enamored with the GX 460 but the lack of Apple CarPlay, the de-contenting and the need for premium fuel for a naturally aspirated v8 that to be honest was smooth but underwhelming with the heavy burden of the fancy dressed up 4 runner.

we really liked the NX300 For its driving dynamics. Great car. But the access/egress and backseat were tight and at age 50 I really don’t like folding into vehicles I plan to age More with,

after a lot of research, a lot of personal reflection we chose the RX350. We went all in with the premium package, we wanted to treat ourselves to a little More luxury after years of rugged 4x4s and tight 3 series sedans and z4s.
Couldn’t be happier. Got the Eminent white Pearl exterior and caramel interior.

I will Give an Honorable mention from our search and testing to the Lincoln Aviator for comfort and automotive art. way to make a Ford Explorer very nice.
But too much $ and it lacked the warm fuzzy security, I feel owning the Lexus.

the Tacoma remains my work truck, reminding me that I am working when I drive it. The good news is that truck is aging well and will last a long time. This may be the bad news in a few more years With my innate and increasing practicality.

My wife bought new, a 1st gen '01 RX300 AWD in gold pearl/cream white paint with the exterior gold pkg including the grill. The interior was a combo of tan & cocoa leather w/beautiful California walnut wood trim. My wife misses it to this day...Yeah, it was a looker!

Congrats. I wish i could talk the wife into an RX hybrid or the new Acura MDX 2022 but she's in love with mini van sliding doors..

I strive for both. Interior noise is a big deal for me. I wanted something well into the 60's at 70mph, and 500+ mile road trips are so much better now that I have something 68dB or so. I know exactly what you mean. Mainly what I meant was an engaging suspension, good steering feedback (well, as much as EPAS can do nowadays) and acceleration somewhere in the high 5 second range or close, not necessarily "more raw".

We leased (I hate leases) a '18 RX450h; very comfortable, decent mileage, fantastic Toyota AWD hybrid technology.
I always drove it in Sport mode, as the suspension was too squishy for me. Remember I mostly drive a GS350 F Sport which is a great car. And the Model 3, which handles on rails with the super low center of gravity and big fat battery...

So late last year we had to decide what to do with the lease; buy it out for $33K or do something else. Oct or Nov we went to Putnam Lexus in Redwood City and test drove a nice '20 RX350 F Sport. FYI all the hybrids move quickly around here; everybody wants one. The F Sport bolstered seats hold you better; in fact they may not be good for larger people. The suspension is far firmer at all settings and has "Sport +". I understand in 2020 they firmed up all the RX models suspension as part of the refresh.

Wifey (and I) definitely wanted the F Sport. Problem was getting the right one before Feb 19th when our lease was up. We wanted a white on red RX450 F Sport, which is the hardest RX to get. We actually did the deal 2 days befor the car came in. And days before the lease was up...
The RX is a bit dated to be sure, but this one's a keeper. I ain't buying no more cars!!!!

I suggest driving both if you are interested. By the way, our perfect, low mileage, 2018, white on black, nicely optioned 450h sold the 1st weekend for $40K. I imagine it was under CPO.
Drive 'em both. My money is on the F Sport. And get the Heads Up Display...
The RX is a very good vehicle but remember, that spindle front end is a love it or hate it kinda thing!

Very nice FSport. It was a huge effort to get my wife out of the body in frame SUVs She has been driving for well over 20 years. We have had a couple of Bmw cars but she never used them much. this offers better visibility and the drivi g dynamics are so much improved Over a prado frame.
I did not know There was a HUD available. If my wife had known she would have pushed for that. It Is the one thing she really loved about the 328 we had.
Hell I am just happy to have Something with Apple car play and ventilated seats.
 
Congrats on the new Lexus.

I had to do a double take on the interior shot. It looks like the drivers seat overlaps the center console. It’s actually the armrest extension.

Definitely so much more utilitarian. Not buying an expensive Lexus allowed me to buy a few more cars and some investment property.

But some day I might change my mind on that, I do like them. The minivan was/is just so much more useful.
