I have brand new shackles for my pickup (old ones rusted). They are painted black. What to spray them with to protect them from rust.

OK, one could say the old ones lasted 14 or so years, why worry about new ones?

You can buy an aerosol bottle of Fluid Film for $10. Coat them with it to protect them from the rust.

Yeah I think FF is a good product for this job. Perhaps better is something that dries hard on the surface, either Boeshield T9, Amsoil HDMP, or LPS3.

Use Rust Check oil undercoating. it wont let you down...

When I bought my case of FF I bought from McMaster-Carr. It doesn't say FF but it was definately FF when I got it (unless if some Chinese company is really, really good at ripping them off). Better price than Amazon, otherwise I would have bought there.

Then the waxy coatings are what you want. LPS 3, Amsoil HDMP, corrosionX HD, Boeshield T9
