rust on cast iron table

an antique firearms guy I used to talk to suggested putting MMO on old cast metals. Seemed to work well enough. Ive used some of the Eastwood rust converter products and they work pretty well if you need to do more of a job.

Liquid lubes cannot be used on a table saw (unless being mothballed) because they will stain the wood. Some sort of wax or film must be used. Top Coat product is designed for this use.

The directions for Evapo-Rust say to immerse the rusty item in Evapo-Rust. Cannot do that with the saw table. I painted it on with a brush and let it sit overnight and then used Windex to clean the table. Its better. I was thinking maybe it would be best to cover the table with a saturated paper or cloth towel so the table is covered with wet Evapo-Rust.
