I'm not sure all the 'news' on the war in Ukraine is accurate or honest.
I saw an interview with retired US Colonel MacGregor who stated that the Ukrainians have lost 400,000 men and the Russians 50,000 men. He also stated that Russia has a huge reserve of men who are prepared for America's eventual entry into the war. I hope that doesn't happen but it could.

The sub was reportedly hit by Storm Shadow - a UK supplied cruise missile. UK also supplies them with sea drones.
As far as personnel loses, I understand UA lost between 500k and 1M including personnel unable to return to service, not just dead. Russia may have lost about 1/6th of that, that's exactly why Russia isn't going into offensive so they can save their personnel. UA is now drafting men over 50y.o. and call for women to join their military too. Imho, UA has a few weeks left before they are done.

yes it was a Kilo. I don’t know why I said that, because they are widely different and I do know the difference. They have no nuclear subs in the Black Sea Fleet, only Kilos. Some of which are in the Med and not able to return to the Black, in fact.
Yet the 2nd greatest military force on earth (according to many) can't move against a country that was supposed to topple in "hours or days" and didn't even have an army 10 years ago. 2nd greatest military on earth has already lost because the world now knows there pretty much inept.
There was a reason Macgregor's appointment to ambassador was stopped in committee, even though the committee was controlled by the friendly side. Dig up the notes on that one if you want to know what an outstanding guy he is. He is desperately looking for an audience at this point.
The short answer is no one knows, because neither side is saying.
Only thing for certain Ukrainian civilians have suffered the most.

Russian objective, and they openly admitted it long ago, is to de nazify and to de militarize Ukraine. As long as Ukraine is throwing troops into meat grinder Russia is winning.
Russians gave strong and last warning to NATO to back off in December, they didn't advance till Feb. With Ukrainian drones reaching Moscow now, Russia couldn't allow NATO with nukes in Ukraine.

They didn’t “openly admit” that - it’s a false flag - a ridiculous pretense for war.
