Rural King battery core charge?

Thinking to pick up some batteries at rural king on a road trip. What is the core charge? It’s less than easy to return them there, unless I bring the cores with me. But if it’s reasonable I’ll just sell the cores to a scrapper.

Average core is $12-18 at stores but when I looked at the RK website and added a car battery to my cart it did not add a core charge, just shipping and tax. Perhaps only in store is a core charge?

Why not call them and ask...

You know as well as I that calling anyplace turns into an endless maze of automated menus and push button options. Then if you get a live person they don’t necessarily known

Given that there are multiple threads about rural king, asking here is more likely to be fruitful.

no rural king here but other places are $18-$40 depending on the battery. Scrap value is about $3

I honk it’s more like 22c/lb, so for a 40-50lb battery…
