See they have that special starting Oct 1st. Has anyone tried it before?
I know, don't get my hopes up with fast food. Just in the chili mood.

@Jdeere562 is known to throw an occasional linguistic wrench into the finely tuned food processor that BITOG is. I'll stick with pasties.

Runza the brand is but bierocks themselves are not.
Bierock makes me think pierok/pierogi. Same root word for sure. Runza, no idea but it sounds like a serious medical condition. "Sir, the lab cultures show you have a case of drug-resistant runza virus. We must isolate you immediately. If we remove your nervous system we may be able to save you."

Very close, kudos

Bierock is similar to both pirogi/pirozhki of Russian cuisine and börek of Turkish cuisine. There is debate about the actual etymology of the word bierock. Traditionally it was supposed that bierock was derived from the Russian word pirog.<a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bierock#cite_note-Kloberdanz1-2"><span>[</span>2<span>]</span></a><a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bierock#cite_note-Kloberdanz2-5"><span>[</span>5<span>]</span></a><a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bierock#cite_note-chicago_tribune-3"><span>[</span>3<span>]</span></a><a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bierock#cite_note-6"><span>[</span>6<span>]</span></a> However, a recent theory speculates that the word bierock may be derived from börek.<a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bierock#cite_note-7"><span>[</span>7<span>]</span></a> This theory is based on both geographic close proximity of the former Volga German ASSR to present day Kazakhstan as well as the influence of considerable population of historically Turkic speaking peoples such as Kazakhs and Tatars living in the Volga region.<a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bierock#cite_note-8"><span>[</span>8<span>]</span></a>Neither theory, however, has been conclusively proven.

Yeah he was going off about having runza awhile back. I think @vavavroom gets runza from certain coffees. I got runza once in China but after that I seemed immune, but whenever I took a new guy to the factories he would get runza. One time a head honcho guy came along to China. He got runza so bad he had to fly home. The key was to not eat at the factory cafeterias. Runza was rampant.

I think you could do with a good kick in the runza.

I grew up in Omaha so I know runzas all too well - I love them! I really love their chili too. Whenever I am back in the Omaha area I have to go to Runza. A friend of mine in Omaha loves their chili and cinnamon rolls!

I haven't tried their chili nor cinnamon roll. Might have to. I do know that they are one of the few fast food restaurants that offer a cheeseburger with an option other than disgusting American cheese. Their peppers bbq burgers are good.

Thank you! I might have to try them.
