The Fesival de San Fermin is going on in Pamplona, northern Spain. Hemingway made it famous in 'The Sun Aslo Rises' Went to this euro spectacle once in the '70s. It is 'the' event in Europe every summer. Each morning a cannon is fired to announce that the toros will be released to run through the street down to the bull ring corral. 'Machismo' men and other assorted fools line up to run in front of this choreographed stampede while risking their lives. The bulls are bred for fighting and are ready and able to gore a man to death and stomp him like a grape. I spent the week there on a budget and it is a vibrant memory. Gotta love the cheap red Spanish wine.

For my BITOG amigos, put this event on your bucket list.
