Route Planning Software

For work, I regularly plan trips with 10+, sometimes 20+ waypoints, including home and all the stopping points.

Now that Google is alienating those of us with the need for more than 10 waypoints, Google Maps is no longer an option.

Looks like MapQuest isn't bad, but I haven't really used it. I was not happy with Bing Maps the last time I used it.

What would anyone else use for route planning, paid software included?

Is this where you can input multiple addresses and it will give you the most efficient rite you?

That feature isn't mandatory, but would be beneficial. I can plan a route with pretty good efficiency, but others cannot, so that would benefit them more. I'm mainly needing point to point directions.
 
I've been wanting to start doing this when I have multiple errands to run to cut down on time and gas cost. So I'm curious to see what recommendations come in for this thread.

I'll agree that Google maps has become too bloated and laggy and I've never really used MapQuest. I guess I could give Apple Maps a try since it's an app on my MacBook.
 
A friend helped me with a commercial package to plan last year's vacation. After 6 waypoints with a very closely planned agenda my wife and I chucked the whole thing, took an unplanned turn and drove on. It turned a planned trip into a much better adventure driven vacation. We got off main roads and met a lot of friendly people. We stayed at several B-n-B's and out of the way motels. At one B-n-B I helped the owner get his antique car running and welded several cracks in the frame along with some gussets and braces. My wife helped his wife get her roses all back in shape. It was a great weekend.

This year's vacation is going to be more of the same. No planning, no computers. I guess that would be a terrifying experience for a younger person and would cause terrible DT's but that's how it's going to be.
 
That sounds like a fun trip, and for a personal experience I'd be all for it.

But for business, time = money. Efficiency is king
 
Maybe I'm missing it, is there a way to create driving instructions from multiplottr?

Looks like it's mainly just for putting pins on a map, unless I'm missing something.

I've always wanted to go on that kind of trip. Wouldn't give me any DT's and I'm a young'n.

But young = poor so that's gonna have to wait unfortunately.

LOL how do you think I got 300+ quarts of $1 from autozone, I hit all the available autozone in my area, costing me only 10 dollars in gas, route efficiency is awesome, learned it when I worked as a courier for 1 month.

I just use google maps, and where the last address was entered on the 10th entry, I start the new google maps page there, its not that complicated.
 
It's not complicated, but it is unnecessarily cumbersome and shouldn't even be a concern.

I've read about that. Looked like it was a nice piece of software, but they dropped support for it a couple years ago.

Tried to install this yesterday, but got a warning that it's only 16 bit and thus wouldn't run on my 64 bit computer. I'll keep an eye out for their new software that is two months late and "due any day now."

That's weird. It installed on my W7 64-bit computer without a single issue.
