As I posted in another section, I am considering a new vehicle for the wife and part of the consideration is how well I could protect the back seat from our dogs, a Rottweiler and a Staffordshire Terrier. Her 7 year old SUV has some wear on the inside from dog nails and some smell from them riding in the back, although I imagine shampooing the fabric could knock out some of the odor. We've tried covers in the past (fairly cheap ones in my opinion), but they end up coming off during the ride. We take them swimming so they get in the truck somewhat damp (won't go for those hair dryer things) and they try to dry off on the seat sometimes.
I'm worried about some well documented expensive repairs that pop up with the current truck, but if I can't protect a new vehicle, then I might just suck it up and pay up when the time comes. There is no sense in buying something newer just to ruin it, especially since the dogs are getting up there in age.
So I was wondering if anyone had experience with a good manufacturer for seat covers for a SUV. Maybe one that makes vehicle-specific models? They don't need to be cheap, just get the job done.
