After my hour drive to work yesterday, a horrible smell emerged from my car. Thought it could be the cat failing. After my hour drive home last night and an hour drive today, nothing. No smell.. No CEL ever. This is on a 2016 Trax. What gives? Didn't even notice power loss. Maybe an ever so slight mpg loss.

I used to get a rotten egg smell occasionally from my Fiesta.

So there must be a source of sulfur (in the fuel I expect) and a reaction by the catalytic converter.

Needs to be run a little harder for a while.

It's quite common to get behind someone here on the mountain and get that smell emitting from their vehicle. It's just getting it nice and hot and burning off the crap.

Just different gas blender, or maybe just old . DI engines just stink when they are floored. Those smelly particles cannot be good for the air.
