I would also do a bed in procedure if the manufacturer makes note of it on the box. Reguardless I do on most new rotor/ pad installs, and have been problem free.
I think the common misconception with a rotor being warped is excess uneven pad build up on the rotor. It's pretty hard to warp a street use rotor. I've had very good luck with your standard duralast and duralast gold pads. Not to mention the PFC Z rated pads. I love the Hawk HPS pads also.
I don't see any problem using the disc brake quiet (the RTV like substance) stuff on the pads. I've used it on practically all of the brake jobs I've done, and again had no issues. Is there some problem I'm not aware of (maybe a recent thread I missed) about using the stuff?
