I have been using Mobil 1 0w40 Euro blend in my cars. First car is a 2007 AudiA6 3.2 which I change oil every 5k miles. Second car is a 2008 BMW X3 which I change every 7.5k miles. I was getting oil from walmart but it seems walmart is not selling it anymore. I was thinking of using Rotella T6. Can anyone think of a reason why this may cause me an issue??

warranty, thats about it from my view.
I use it in the summer in my truck and suv. It is a 5w but its a thick 5w. I use ow 30 in the winter. I'm not sure where you are but if its colder than say 20f i might not use it.

You're already using one of the best oils on the shelf, and possibly one of the best oils widely available. Why would you switch to an oil that is made for completely different applications?
You probably wouldn't have any "issues"... but then again, you probably wouldn't have any issues with a Camry and a CR-V instead of an A6 and an X3, either.

I agree completely with d00df00d. Is having to buy oil from somewhere other than Walmart an "issue" for you? It's not like German cars grow on trees for free.

You have two options besides using a non-spec oil:
1. Take advantage of the long factory OCIs so you don't have to buy oil as often.
2. Order something online and have it delivered right to your house. There are lots of oils that meet VW 502.00/505.00 for your Audi (correct me if it takes a different spec) and BMW LL-01 for your BMW.
Or you could do both, which would be even better.

I sound like a broken record, but look at Mobil 1 High Miles.
you will have no issues running T6
Since you change you oil regularly and prefer walmart why not go with Mobil 1 High Mileage 5w30 or 10w30. Don't know what the climate is where you're are, but those should work well for you. I'm sure there are other auto parts stores which carry Mobil 1 0w40 (sometimes on sale) if you want to find some. I would probably stay away from diesel oil. Nothing wrong with it, but for warranty period I would not use it.

At least Mobil 1 High Mileage carries ACEA A3/5.
It's silly to NOT use a 502 or 504 spec oil if still in warranty period, IMO. Why chance a potentially very expensive issue if something breaks and Audi finds out you did not use a spec oil...and refuses to pay?

I'm using Castrol EDGE 5w30 under warranty, flashed ECU too.
Why Rotella? There are plenty of other options at Walmart. Are you trying to save some money at the same time?
Pep Boys does sales on Mobil 1 0W-40 every month or two - less than $35 for five quarts and a Mobil 1 filter and there are a few Pep Boys stores in NJ - check their web site .
I'd keep doing what you're doing. When M1 is on sale, it costs the same as T6. Both are good oils with a proven record.
If you really can't decide, I'd just say use the M1 because of the Audi/VW approval.
