Appreciate the input, however I wasn't going into this looking for a recommendation on what to run. Everything suggested would work in simple air-cooled power equipment, there's no disagreement on that. 30 wt works well here in Colorado where temperatures can be cooler in the spring and in the fall when the first and last mowings, trimmings, etc take place. Straight 30 weight fits the bill.
The thread was started specific to high speed engines and that T1 30 wt carried no gasoline designation. Out of curiosity I looked at a bottle on the shelf when I headed to Walmart and wanted to point out it does carry an SL rating that is suitable for gasoline engines and certainly higher speed engines at that. Nothing more nothing less.
Yes, it's not the most recent classification however it does carry an SL designation at this point, and SOPUS is four years behind updating their information. Felt it was appropriate to bring this thread up to date and not leave it four years behind on information either, LOL.
