That is extremely high for an API 40 wt, more than TDT, DEO etc. The only thing close is Redline and Shaeffer.

For the old Rotella, someone on another forum confirmed with Shell that it had HT/HS of 4.2. Not sure if and how much it's changed with the release of T6.

The key word to my statement is probably not defenantley.

It would be nice to know though. That would put it well above most other 5w40 HDEOs, on-par with RL 5w40 and S9000.

If this was confirmed I'm sure it did not change between the name change. I believe 4.2 to be a good number.

rotella t6 5w40 vs. the rotella SB 0w40.

which one looks better on paper? VOA?

the SB 0w40 is 2 bucks more than the t6 around here for a 4L jug.

Unless you are doing extended intervals, TBN should not be an issue.

What engine are you considering using these oils in?

it's a modified honda 2.0L turbocharged. produces about 400hp. no oil cooler so it does run a little on the hot side after it's been running a while.

Ya, go with T6 over 0w40 SB. Meets much newer specs.
