Any good stories about roadside repairs that were meant to be or turned into permanent repairs?
Here's one from earlier today helping my brother. His 00 Olds minivan's exhaust had been iffy for months. Today, the back half decided to start getting cozy with the pavement after a temporary repair long on rush and short on brains failed. Running the risk of the exhaust poking into the cabin was too much for him, so he called me to come fix it. I found him jury-rigging the downed section with a plastic coat hanger. A tubing cutter, some new tubing and 3 exhaust clamps later he has a much quieter van after fixing in a mini-mart parking lot. The repair won't move a millimeter, and is permanent as far as we're concerned. Meaning we're not touching it again...
