I'm finishing up my ARX cleaning and rinsing stages on a 99 Ford Expedition w 5.4 68K (no leaks) and I have a few questions about my next move:

1. Will the esters in Red Line oil conflict with the esters in ARX?

2. Can I run ARX and LC at the same time (3 oz ARX and 6oz LC for 6 qt. system and 1oz every 1k)or is this overkill/conflicting chemistries? (You're probably thinking, "Hmmmmm, redline in a Expy.......thats overkill to begin with!"

I have some in the garage and I want to try it.

BTW, I've searched for this and haven't come up with any concrete answers.

3. For Confirmation: An LC flush is 16oz LC with cheap, but good (supertech) oil- run at idle for 20 min and drain.

Please accept my thanks in advance for your comments.

I used Auto-Rx, Lube Control, and GC in my last used oil analysis. It turned out to be my best used oil analysis ever. Terry also uses both Lube Control and Auto-rx together sometimes when he uses Redline.

Expensive brew!!

In my FACE if I was to run Amsoil with those, but we should say "HOOEY" to those folks....

Here's my point: I think it will be fine, and if you KNOW this is best for your engine, do it. For sure run a used oil analysis and compare to previous....

FWIW, I asked this question on the A-RX forum as D1 is my favoured brew, and Tony and Frank reckon it's fine to run the maintenance dose with ester based oils. I think Tony said he does this.

Rick.

I've decided to run the RL and LC for now. ARX can be added later, but I have a few more questions. Here is my thinking:

1. Use LC as a oil cleaner/TBN enhancer. Any engine cleaning that is done (Remember, I just finished a complete ARX cycle)will be a bonus.

2. Use ARX to keep seals conditioned (not sure if this will work with Full Synthetic oil), keep the ring packs clean and as a general engine cleaner.

3. Not sure if these products will work as listed above when used together.

Your thoughts please.............

What vehicle and engine did you run it in? I'm planning on running GC in the winter.

I have tested ( on my own, this is not approved by Auto-RX or LubeControl) running the 3 oz maint does of RX with a normal 1 to 2 ounce per qt capacity load of LC, then the periodic application of LC to boost oxdiative stability every 1000 miles or so. Caused no problems when verified by UOA and observation.

Redline, Amsoil, Mobil,Schaeffers 7000 blends and many brands of "conventional and blends.

Amsoil acts like the OLD formula's that I promoted 5 to 6 years ago when dosed for anti-oxidation with LubeControl.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I'm gonna add the ARX and do a used oil analysis and see what happens. Terry, your comment gives me "peace of mind".

Right now, my truck seems to really like RL as it runs very quiet and smooth. I've noticed that RL does have a very different smell to it (esters?).
