Rislone Engine treatment VS MMO

Anyone tried both? what do you guys think? i know mmo is safe, how bout the rislone??they are both about they same price which works better?

Never tried Rislone, but only heard about it. MMO seems like it would be far safer than rislone, since it's a slow-cleaner, and can be ran for a full OCI....whereas the Rislone is a simple flush that you add 10 minutes before your oil change.

My thoughts would be a "fast flush" like that could have the potential of dislodging sludge particulars that could get caught in the oil pump and/or screen, or even worse, fill up the filter, throwing it into overflow mode, and all the oil contaminants previously "secured" inside the filter would be put back into the engine...

I've used Rislone a few times, I used the smaller 'add at any time' bottle. I never checked to see what if anything it did for my engines, but it certainly didn't do them any harm.

cleaning. im pretty ignorant about the rislone but but from what i can tell its used like mmo, just replace a qt of oil with it.

I really think both products will give the same results, meaning you have to continually use both products as a Maintenance Dose.

MMO has the advantage in that it is cheaper than Rislone.

At least both of these products work better than the so called oil additive that was pushed by Paid Posters.

Traditional Rislone is not a fast flush. You can run it for an entire OCI. I have used it and MMO and seen both work to clean out sticky lifters. Not going to take a sludged up beast and clean it out in 100 miles, but will gently do it over time.

my 83 Olds with the 307-4V really performed well with Rislone. It is not by any means, a fast flush, or even considered a flush.
FFWIW that car went 256K miles -Fram oranges filters its entire life

Rislone is one of those interesting products in that I've seen a few people here and there recommend it, never heard anything negative said about it, see it everywhere in stores, but it draws very little attention.

I've been very close to trying it myself, since MMO isn't sold here and is among the many auto products US shops won't ship to Canada, while Rislone is everywhere here and reasonably priced too.

I have gotten to try MMO, both in fuel and gas, and have a quart reserved on my oil shelves for a piston soak - so I have that experience to compare it to. Might try it next winter as an alternative cleaner. My engine is prone to developing cold weather valve chatter (until its warmed up close to operating temp), which I suspect is related to oil burn off and carbon building up the valve seats (my theory anyway). No problems this winter, but it was very noticeable when I first bought the car (and before using a variety of means to clean the engine and fuel system out).
