Bandleader extraordinaire. Legend.
Godfather of British blues. So many greats learned their chops playing in his Blues Breaker band.
Oh my gosh.
We've had a lot of big time deaths lately, but this one hits close to the bone.
About four or five years ago, my wife and I saw Coco Montoya at a blues festival. He mentioned that John had a medical problem and everybody wished him well. Coco replaced Eric Clapton in the Bluesbreakers when Eric left. Seems like John got quite a few more years in. Good on him!!!
Who remembers; "Chickey chickey what?" Brilliant blues man! Great album.
