Saddened to read of the passing of Hal Williams AKA "Smitty" on Sanford and Son. Last week, I saw him on a live interview segment on a local FOX station with his sidekick Howard Platt AKA "Hoppy." In addition to Sanford and Son , I remember him going way back on an episode of Gunsmoke....RIP.
