I followed his achievements when I was a kid. I think that the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago has (had?)one of his cars on display.

What a great, successful life he had. It is astonishing he made it that long given the speeds he drove at. Rest In Peace!

I was just watching old TNN tractor pulling. Wasn't Art Arfons a tractor puller that had a jet engine?

Yeah that's the one. His tractor pulling machine was the green monster. Powered by a Huey helicopter turbine. I can't imagine the fuel bill for a season
