Newer Pixel phones only support Qi2 wireless charging. So a Pixel 10 will not charge on the older Pixel cradle. The Pixel 10 needs a charger like the Pixelsnap. The Pixel cradle had a little ledge for the bottom of the phone to rest on. The Pixelsnap has no such cradle but uses a magnet to hold the phone. But with a case (normal case) the magnet will not support the phone. So you put the Pixelsnap on a desk or shell and the magnet kind of holds the phone but the phone actually rests on the desk or shelf.

Why don't they have a cradle?

Maybe without a case the magnet holds it tight but how many people have an expensive phone without a case?

It's still a nice charger. But they forgot a cradle. Maybe with different size phones and a magnet the cradle would not work. Unsure.

One of the big changes in Qi2 was the additional of magnetic alignment, but for "reasons," the WPC made it (MPP) an optional part of the spec.

The result is an mishmash of products on the market that do the user no favors, with phones that lack magnets (Samsung), and cases that lack magnets.

To have things that work properly, one kind of needs all the parts to work together, and ship products with that in mind, but a lot of people missed that memo, allowing users to fall into the resulting loopholes.

Get a case with magnets, and the charger will work as intended. Or use the phone naked.

I've had cases with built in "magsafe" (an apple term) magnetic rings for my last 3 pixels ( 6, 8pro, 10)
I've never owned the official pixel cradle, as I'm just not a fan of regularly wireless charging. ( it pretty much destroyed the battery in my Pixel 4)
that being said, i will use it on occasion. and my pixel 10 works just fine with any of my existing Qi chargers....
THIS is the case i have on my Pixel 10

Just get a mag case for the phone and it will stay.
