Previous owner of my 2007 Mercedes S550 gave it a facelift with later model bumper and headlights plus LED fog lights. The warning messages for right and left fog and marker lights out, show in the instrument cluster screen. I bought these resistors, https://www.ebay.com/itm/403857721692 and installed them on both fog lights. Those warning messages are off now. The marker lights in the facelift headlights are part of the headlights themselves and the connectors for the old marker lights are empty and just dangling behind the bumper. Can I just connect the resistors directly to them? They won't burn up or overheat?

Please post a follow up. I would think you could use the socket. Those resistors are designed to get warm. can you dangle them in an airflow?
I mounted them on the aluminum bumper beam.
