I respect your opinion and you're right...I don't agree.

It'll make for a nice tinkering project, and the satisfaction of knowing something was "fixed" may be worth the time and money required to revive the laptop. My previous comments were more from a general perspective. After that I'm sure you'll get another year or two of browsing bobistheoilguy.com, but the dated 4th gen CPU may begin to struggle with other modern compute tasks.

For those that have machines taking forever waking up from sleep, got to advanced power settings, under sleep, make sure hibernate is set to Never.

For slow boot times, go to Task Manager and look how many programs are listed under Startup. You may want to disable some.
