The engine oil cooler hoses on my '01 Grand Marquis are slightly weeping, and I'd like to address the issue before it gets bigger. I have four options available to me:

1. Genuine Ford replacement
2. Dorman standard replacement
3. Dorman heavy duty replacement (textured finish)
4. Get the hoses and o-rings replaced locally, reusing the connectors at each end

The forth option is pretty much the same as the first two, only without the $107 price tag on the OE replacement. That said, are the hoses on the HD version that much better? Here's a picture I found of the hose online. Thanks!

I usually avoid Dorman products but they do make the occasional decent part especially when they offer a good and better version of the same part.
The HD hose and connectors look good, if they were cheaper i would have no problem using them.
