Replacing FORD Battery cable clamps 2002 Ranger OE Style

To bring this one to a close I finally put the cable in. If I had any advice for the next guy take many more pictures of the routing before you pull the old one out.

My friend and I had XJ jeeps, and there was a sticky in the forum about replacing the cables in the car with thick cabling. Spent some coin and bought some welding cable at a discount from a local cable maker corp. Replaced all the positive main and grounds with the ridculously thick and flexible stuff. Purchased specialty brass battery post clamps that had a huge hold down area on them to securely attach the cables to them. The lights never dimmed again when a load was applied, battery has lasted 18 years and there is zero corrosion on the terminals or wire ends.

Seriously a great little project to do when the price for 1/0 gauge flexible welding cable was cheaper.

I hate to keep mentioning AAP but we carried massive amounts of assembled battery cables, BTW Ford always used the smallest gauge wire!!
