Anyone replaced these things on your zero turn mower? The oem on my mower have a plastic retainer on each end which you can retract to unlock and remove the damper. Seems that the replacement ones have a spring device on each end. I saw one video that showed a guy retracting the springs with a small crew driver. Did not work for me. These springs are very brittle and easily broken and I do not see how the screw driver would give any retraction if the spring. Do you just force the end to snap (maybe tap the end) in place?
