Hey, guys. Tomorrow I'm switching out my Amsoil in favor of another cleanup interval before going for an extended interval again. I put a replacement FF on this vehicle when it was bought used, around 230,000 miles and now it's nearly at 248,000. I've ran a lot of fuel system cleaner/gas additives/even a couple gallons of E-85.

My goal is to remove the FF and replace it again, in the event all the catchup maintenance has gotten the FF filled with all the bad 'stuff', rust etc.

Is it best to change the FF now, before I change my oil tomorrow or after the oil change is completed? I'd rather not have to touch it tomorrow while doing other maintenance, including the oil change. Does it make a difference? I suppose it doesn't matter, much, since this next OCI is for cleanup purposes. Just curious as to perhaps why/why not, if it even matters.

Thanks.

Fuel filter change will have no impact or relationship to what you're doing with the oil. Just save yourself the hassle and do them at the same time (one set-up, one clean-up).

I've never been big on changing a fuel filter before an OCI but I always change the windshield when I get new tires.

Thankfully on the Civic it's mounted onto the firewall in the engine bay. I went ahead and changed it, 10 minute job. Went for a test drive, after not seeing any leaks after re-installing, and the car seems peppier, placebo?

No--wait until you need to replace your high tension muffler sprokets.

Seriously, it does not matter in the slightest to your oil when you replace your FF
