Repair the tire, or keep driving?

Just to be clear..

Saw screw in tire when leaving grocery store, drove 5-10 minutes home with it in the tire.

Once home, removed screw from tread block. No air came rushing out, nothing. Measured depth of tread block at puncture site, 8 or 9/32" (6-7mm). Measured length of screw shaft, 11 or 12mm. Screw seemed to go in tread block at an angle.

Placed screw on top of tire in between tread blocks before taking pictures in my original post. I wanted to show how tall the screw was next to a tread block, to show how much screw material could have gone below the tread block, if it had gone straight down, which I don't believe it did.

So the screw has been removed for more than a day now. I didn't want to remove it when I first saw it at the grocery store, I figured I could make it home 5-10 minutes no problem. Worst case I'd have to put air in it on my way home with the air pump I keep in my trunk.

For now. For every tire revolution the screw get hammered deeper in. Kind of like having a splinter in your foot. Would you leave that in too?

You must have missed that the screw was already removed.. in the first post?

To OP, I've leave it alone now that screw was removed... no need to put a hole in your tire to patch/plug it.

No one is suggesting to leave the screw in. He already took it out. No leaks so far. Ain't broke, don't "fix' it.

Plug and patch it. This combination will last the life expectancy of your tire. Had same thing happen with new Michelins with under 3,000 miles on them. The plug/patch lasted another 60,000 miles trouble free.
