Found one thread from four years ago about Rennstands' from Safejack, but nothing more and discussion was very limited. Seems like a real good solution for lifting unibody vehicles at the manufacturer designed spot for lifting. I purchased a set of these yesterday, they are on backorder. Searched other vendors, used, etc... nothing out there.

I am surprised some Chinese company is not yet manufacturing a clone of the Rennstand. Did not find anything out of China.

Someone actually did a 60 minute youtube review on these stands (link below).

Same here. Work great for all sorts of things, the platform is a nice feature.
I tried to purchase them, their web-site says in back order and not allowing purchase. Safejack site said the same thing, but allowed me to order. Safejack shipped the next day, I have them in my garage now, used them yesterday. Actually purchased to more rennstands from Safejack earlier this week.

2025 bump!

I cannot believe Horror Freight does not have a knock off version of this

Looks like Rennstand is not operating at this time (No idea how long that has been the case) but web site indicates returning in the Spring. I wonder if the larger/taller versions will ever happen (At a realistic price)... After production shifted from Safejack to Rennstand (Florida) last price I saw ~2021 was $500 for a pair with pads

ETA after some searching I found the new Rennstand v2.0 manufactured under liscense in China (2 stands with pinch weld and axle "U" pads = $387 shipped. So still a bit higher than the pre- RONA sale price but less than the $500 I saw a few years ago.

TBH, if they were a few inches higher I'd do it, but for now will hold off

For my Mercedes (and therefore, yours) I bought these: http://www.jackpointjackstands.com/home.html

They lack the adjustability of the Renn Stand, but they are a much wider and deeper base. Very stable. Easy to use.
I have these for my Porches, haven't used them yet but will this Spring to do plugs on the Cayman. I had to buy them used as I tried to buy a new pair but the seller seemed overwhelmed with orders

Yeah, they take a while to process and ship the order - and the new price is overwhelming, too, but they do work and they are very sturdy.

Thorough review of the v2.0 here:

@The Critic Thank you for the link, that certainly is a detailed review.

BLUF: No way I am buying OLP version 2.0 it uses a piece of bent metal support the weight vs a straight piece of metal in compression of version 1.0
I just ordered a pair of the 2.0. I like the wider base and the more modular design. The metal support is also solid.

I have the Rennstand made in USA... not the one from ETA MFG. Rennstand was licensed out to ETA MFG but that contract seems to have expired, and they are now bringing back the domestic version. Even the USA made one had two versions, and I have the later one which is black in color with the silver top. It is very convenient in a variety of settings, and I have never worried about safety. For longer work, I take the extra time to put my cars on ESCO stands. If I don't need perfect leveling, then I use some combination of stands with RaceRamps. If Jackpoints had a easier way to adjust height except for stacking plates, I'd prefer them... but the Jackpoints seem specifically tailored to low cars like Corvettes and Porsches. Not as useful for my Mercedes SUV and Toyota Sienna.
