Need to remove aftermarket tint from a cars windows. Getting the plastic off isn't too hard but getting the glue off is impossible so far.

I have tried paint thinner, brakecleaner, naptha and now gasoline.

The gas does remove it but then the car stinks.

Any tips?

Gas is your date to the prom. And a razor blade. Follow up with dawn dish soap and water.

When a judge made me remove my tinting, I very, very, very carefully used a heat gun and a razor blade. I was so careful and lucky I didn't crack the glass.

I've seen some videos pro tint people use hot steam to remove old tint.
^^^This. I have a steam cleaner and it works great. You can also use a laundry steam iron, but it might take a bit longer. The heat and moisture from the steam makes it relatively easy to remove. Granted, I've only done this one time, but it worked like a charm.

Best to heat the entire glass you're working on with the steam prior to focusing on a smaller area, so not to have too great a temperature variation across the glass. Once it starts pealing off, just keep working it. Good luck.
