2007 Yukon Denali w/211k mile 6.2L L92. It doesn't leak or consume any oil. 81k miles ago in 2018, I did a piston/combustion chamber soak, rear main seal, & TSB 10-06-01-008M when we bought the vehicle. Rings were stuck when we bought it.

Its been 11k miles since the oil pan was last off/cleaned-out last August (not 11k on oil).

To clean the the internal surfaces that I can't easy reach, I've been running a mixture of 50% Valvoline Premium Blue "Restore" 10w-30 and 50% Mobil1 FS Euro 0w-40. This is the 3rd oci and the 3rd summer in a row that I've dropped the oil pan to see/clean-out debris that the oil is removing. Pics below. This time there wasn't much debris, so I won't be pulling the pan in the future for inspection/clean-out.

At next oil change I'll switch to 1 of 3 oils I have, either Amsoil, HPL, or Valvoline Restore and Protect? to be determined :)

here's the debris from last 3 pan drops:

Move to VRP. It can free stuck rings in just 2 oil changes. Valvoline Premium Blue Restore is a one time use product. The ester/solvency is so high (60% group V) it is likely not good for seals long term.

Great job with the cleaning and thanks for sharing the pictures!

Of the choices you listed, none are bad, but the VRP may be cheaper anyway. I imagine you'll want to continue with short OCIs to keep flushing the carbon out, so why waste the money on the boutiques.

Yeah with the mileage on that motor I'd just go with VRP 5W-30 as the forever oil. 3k mile OCI's for mixed use and maybe 5k miles if its mostly highway.

Perhaps think about adding a can of BG's EPR 109 flush right before every oil change to try and clean it up a bit faster.

YMMV on number of changes to free stuck rings. Valvoline advertises 4 OCI's, but also say it could take longer. My sons Santa Fe used about 1/2 a quart in 4K miles. Took a full 4 OCI's (4K miles each) to get better. I didn't think it was working at all in fact. Now, he is almost through the 5th OCI, and car hasn't lost a drop of oil. So, each car will be different. Some cars may take more than 5 or 6 OCI's. Some cars even use MORE oil after a couple changes of R&P, but keep going and it does get better.

Yes that is true I should have said it will vary. In one instance the Valvoline tech director Dr Warholic was surprised VRP unstuck rings after 2 OCI but it's very specific.
