Hi,

can anyone comment on the compatibility of redline water wetter with dex-cool antifreeze? As I understand it, dex-cool is very sensitive to mix ratio, air bubbles, level, temperature, etc. I am unsure if it is incompatible chemically though.

My research in the archives seems to point out that some have had issues with a funny precipitate/sludge forming, but this wasnt in vehicles using water wetter. The apparent solution was that it could either be ignored because it is harmless, or to use the diesel water wetter.

I used the gas water wetter in the past, in my dexcool without issue. But I have had some glycol/na/K in the oil, so I need to make every consideration that I can. If Id use it again (my temp gauge fluctuates more now than it did, and Im not sure if its becuase of the WW or because of the new radiator cap (16 psi vs the old 15 psi) that I changed to, Id use the diesel water wetter. But I dont want to take any chances.

Any info would be most appreciated.

thanks,

JMH
