Hi
I'am about to do a transmission flush on my s-10 (dexron III). I'm confused about which ATF oil to choose. I hesitate about redline d4 atf and amsoil atf(universal atf). What do you think about these two oil?

sorry for my bad english
thanks
mathieu

Either one has to be better than the original fluid(s).

I run Amsoil ATF in my 2005 Highlander and it is uber smooth!
I'm using RLI in my 2005 Accord, and while the gear whine is there, it's better than "Z"ero-1.

Pick one or the other and don't worry about it.

I like the Redline D4, went 174,000 miles with no issues on my 700R4 transmission.

Break the tie.. go with mobil 1!

Well, that's a good choice also. Nothing wrong with the Mobil 1 ATF.

On a Honda forum that I sometimes visit the Redline D-4 seems to be preferred to Amsoil ATF. IMO either is an improvement over Hondas own Z-1.

You will like the D4. I have a suburban running D4 and its gone about 130K since the 4L60E was replaced due to the lack of a cooler back in 97 while pulling a boat. Not a problem since with very infrequent changes. I also run it in my camry.

Amsoil is also a very high quality ATF, though my favorite is RL. Let us know how it works out.

I had an 88 Accord and you can use anything in those auto transmissions. Anything from DexronII to DexronVI to MerconV and ATF-4 to Mobil 1 and anything Import ATF. Domestic anything too! Those particular Accords were animals. I had mine 18 years and put on 340,000 miles and used anything in the cooling system too that said it was EG. And mine was a carburator.

Haha, that's awesome. I love older Accords. My favorite generation though would be the 94-97 or so.. Especially the 5 speed coupes. So nice.

I change the filter + oil and the feeling of the transmission is much better. But the only problem is that the new gasket is leaking.
