This is spooky, there is a Redline 10W-40 report a few post below this one, and the finishing viscosity is the EXACT same - 13.13 cst!!!

Weird.
 
lol...RL uses little to no VII's. That is part of the reason viscosity is always rock solid. 1qt of makeup oil in 7,500 miles is nothing.

That was my first thought too. It's the same engine, same car, same year though. If you look at the previous 5w40 runs here https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/08-gti-redline-10w40-5300-miles.135318/
they are all about the same ending viscosity. I tried to run my RL 5w40 in this car to 7500 miles but iron went way up. The subject UOA of this thread did not have increased iron. I wonder if perhaps he had more highway miles on this run.
