I can appreciate getting the head gasket checked is wise. How much is it to get head gasket checked? I know the first answer will be..."a lot less than getting a new engine.."

I added redline water wetter to the coolant a few weeks ago. I was not losing coolant. The car has never overheated even in recent ninety plus temps..I have an oil pressure gauge in the car because of bypass filter. The guage has been consistent oil pressure in honda is around 80psi in daily driving since the gauge was installed five years ago. I only added two courts of oil in 17,000 miles of driving in cold of winter to summer. I attributed coolant discoloration to adding the redline water wetter. I had radiator flushed within this past week as precaution and have noticed no discoloration or loss of coolant...

This is a post from a May 10 2004 on bitog about similar issue...."I have noticed in my wife's car after two years of using WaterWetter in the cooling system, it turned the coolant into Black slime. I removed the over flow tank and slowly drained it and I saw the WaterWetter turned into slime. Don't waste your $$ on this product. I didn't notice any difference in the water temps. Just flush your coolant system every 30,000 miles and you won't have any problems." I have not seen other signs there is a problem with the car.

that was an expensive experiment w/ water wetter but i'm curious why you put expensive top shelf oil in there? assuming 5W-20 is OEM, any 5w20 conventional would have been fine considering the problems you prob have

i'd just monitor everything and send another sample at 5,000 or 6 months on that Red Line 0W-30
