I see red line oil in here frequently,,whats up with this oil, do they have a big following, and how much or is this another oil in a pretty bottle,,seriously, is this a good oil.

It is awesome oil and I wouldn't call the bottles "pretty", just ergonomic.

They are the only oil company I know of off hand that uses polyol ester base stocks in all of their motor oils and gear oils, all combined with an extremely stout additive package.

Lots of money, overkill in many applications, but an excellent product.

They are one of the top-tier oils, with high additive levels and excellent base stocks. Well known in the racing community.

/EDIT: Ben hit the nail on the head. Or is that the the piston with the valve?

Circa 2004, when Advance Auto Parts was clearing out Red Line oils, they had a bunch of it for $4/qt. I didn't know much about oil back then, and I passed it up because judging by the looks of the bottle, I thought it was overpriced junk in a cheap looking bottle.

Not polyol ester base stock

Poly ester is extremely shear stable and has a superior clean ability, great for high temps and turbo'ed applications. IMO the best oil on the market

RedLine MT-90 is the fluid of choice for the Nissan manuals.

RedLine engine oils are also top choices for a lot of the new Nissan VQ series engines.

Just examples that I know of being into Nissans.

It's excellent stuff if you can find it.

It's not much more than other top-tier synthetics.

My sentiments exactly...My guess is that maybe only about 5% of the vehicles on the road need such an oil..possibly less...Its overkill and a waste of $$$ for the vast majority of vehicles out there.

F4Js in the 60s. We put some once in a v8 engine on the airfield in Fl. It worked, no brand name on can, omy,,it was in cans, remember when;.................

...And the best part of jet turbine oil is it's 100C vis of only 3.5 - 5.0 cSt. It makes RL's 0W-20 100C vis of 8.2 cSt look like honey!
