I had not run a UOA on my Accord as of yet and wanted to see how the motor is aging as it prepares to turn over 60k miles. A few points of note for reference in case anyone prefers more details:
  • Red Line 0W20 has been run in the engine exclusively for the past 30k miles at appx the same interval so there should be no remnants from another brand to skew additive levels
  • Car is run exclusively on 89 octane ethanol-fuel (E0) - I noted this fact to Blackstone but they made no comment on it (no idea if E10 would show differently or not)
  • Car is a 6 speed manual and sees appx 75% highway / 25% city with spirited driving style
  • Air and oil filters are Honda OEM, air filter has appx 30k miles of use and I plan to change soon
Overall I am happy with these results and plan to continue on this route, the wear levels are good and the motor is as smooth and does not use any oil. Additionally, I like having the ability to push beyond this if needed by my schedule should I not be able to change it on planned ~5k intervals.

Is this the Redline white bottle or the API compliant new series?

How many months? Looks O.K. for a MT car.

That tinge of NA and K might indicate some coolant infiltration. What does a VOA evidence? Does this engine have a small oil cooler?

Thanks for the post.

I forgot the Professional Series black bottle existed. I use High Performance white bottle exclusively.

Appx 12 months, I work from home most of the time and if I travel by car for business on longer trips I will usually just rent a car as I have to haul some equipment.

I am correcting my original post, I meant to say "ethanol-free fuel" rather than "ethanol-fuel" but most probably would have guess this as I indicated E0.

Looks perfect !

OK I'll say it...you could go with a longer OCI lol.

Great car too, with that MT...bet it's smooth and quiet.

I am curious about your thoughts about Hondas and valve adjustments, as my next vehicle might just end up being an HRV 2.0L Hybrid (2028?).

Afraid I cannot help you with any feedback regarding valve adjustment as both the K20Z3 and the K24W1 in my signature have not received adjustments as of yet due to lack of mileage.

The K20 will be up for adjustment in the next year or so, but in the mean time they are both outstanding motors which I cannot fault as far as stone-axe reliability, efficiency, and fun factor are concerned when they are wound into higher RPMs.

I am running this same oil in my heavily modified Wrangler that sees very high temps crawling up mountain trails in the summer heat. Your Honda sheared it to 8.28 from 9.0. I am a little nervous now. Does your Accord show oil temp?
