recommendations on battery heat deflector insulation?

hey all i put a larger battery into my vehicle. running a 24f now rather then a group 35 and the stock battery heat insulation for my toyota doesn't fit. i know i could just cut it and then tape it and leave the gap but thinking of doing something a little better

was thinking of buying some heat reflecting type of foam / insulation / tape and wondering what people recommend?

The insulation isn't going to save you from ambient, but will likely reflect some radiant heat - so I would just cut it and leave the gap on the non engine / outer fender side. But hey, if you want to go all out, why not.

If you want a cheap/free way to make some insulation just use those old windshield reflectors that you may have just lying around in your garage if you're like me and cut it up and use some wire to tie the ends.

ty i saw those but dont wanna spend $30 ahaha was hoping could get it done for $10-15, and yeah makes sense but the one that came with the toyota seems like just foam, it doesnt seem as good as this reflective alumninum stuff but maybe i don't know much

i like that idea but the more i think about it seems easier just to cut my old one and tape errr or zip tie ahahahah

I have seen the batter insulators on some cars, Subaru I think. By the time I replaced the battery the insulator was best or mouse chewed. Not sure how much good the battery insulators really do.
