I am open to Synethetics, Blends, and Mineral based stuff!

So far I am aware of:

Chevron Delo 10W30
Rotella 10W30

I would even consider Amsoil S2K and S3K as "heavy duty as well." My intention here is to run a HDEO for its stoutness but I want to stay in an energy conserving viscosity instead of going to a 5W40 like Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck.

Thanks!

Thanks,

This would be a gasser application then? Amsoil ACD 10W30 is a good one as is the 5W30 HDD (but it will cost you). Our friends north of the border have some interesting 5W30 HDEO's too, but we can't get them here.

Two reasons I can think of to use synthetics.
1) really extreme cold starts
2) extended OCIs.

I would think, even without knowing what vehicle/engine combo you're considering, that a synthetic is not needed for your area. Cold start pumpability is typically not an issue in TX.

Further, if you're not going to extend OCIs, there is plenty of evidence to show that today's dino fluids are very capable products.

I believe a dino HDEO in 10w30 would be an excellent choice; great performance with a very friendly price point.

And I put my money where my mouth is; I run Rotella 10w30 in nearly all the equipment I have, including my Dmax, my Kubota, my air-cooled power equipment, my 1966 Mustang, and soon, my Goldwing.
