Great site, been reading for years. I have a Honda K24a2 (TSX) engine that is all original but with an upgraded oil pump for better flow at high rpm. Factory redline is 7100, but I am tuned to and frequently take to 8000.

The motor is supercharged and making 400+whp at the moment on water methanol. I have been running 5w30 Mobil 1 like the factory calls for with a pure one filter. After reading for some time decided to pickup a case of Mobil 1 0w40 thinking it might be the safer route. The car is rarely driven and oil is changed often. I only take the car out on the weekends a hand full of times a year and when it is out it is driven/raced hard.

With what little information I have given, is this a good oil for my application?

I was considering an amsoil or redline "race" oil with high additives since my car has no emissions equipment left on it. What are everyones thoughts? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

Have you performed an oil analysis yet? Without one, it's merely a guessing game.

Supercharged here as well

AMSOIL Signature Series 5w30 does the mill fine.

0w40 might be a good oil for it. id do a used oil analysis to see what contaminants if any are in your oil. like moisture. I had water meth injection on my old s 10. Never did a used oil analysis though.

That's a long life oil. Changing it often is pointless. You drain serviceable oil and pour in serviceable oil. Makes no sense b
If your going to use a premium product run the interval out. Your not saving anything by shortening the interval.
