What’s a good clay mitt to use? A couple years ago I picked on up off Amazon and LOVE the speed and ease compared to traditional clay but it’s a cheapy and just doesn’t really clean that well. Looks like 303 and meguiars both offer one (as well as others).

I use the Griot’s garage synthetic clay bar. It’s shaped similar to an air hockey mallet and works well, in my opinion. I believe you can use it approximately 25 times and it costs about 26 dollars.

I sometimes prefer real clay bars. Despite a good washing, I have had embedded grit caught in my Griots pad and it scratched my paint. Prob because I did not rinse often enough. That seems to happen less often with a conventional clay bar as grit simply embeds. That glass smooth finish was there afterwards, and a quick buff brought out perfection.

I like the Griots synthetic clay hockey puck enough that I have two of them. But I now know to be careful with them.

Since I park at the airport, my paint gets plenty of damage from particulates. A clay bar is a must.

I like this product, too, but mine started falling apart after two and a half cars. 25 times is impossible.

I agree with @Cujet. Just go with a bar, you can fold it over multiple times to get a fresh surface, you can't do that with a mitt.

I use an Adam’s clay mitt with a lot of optima no-rinse as lube. It’s lasted at least 10 uses.
