recommend a pressure washer

I just need a small pressure washer as another tool in my arsenal for detailing my car. Was thinking of a small electric, no need to mix soap, just spray water.

Recommendations? I don't want to waste my money.

get one that is one wheels and frame like a gas model.. so it does not tip over.

electrics are cool but gas is great also. Just remember with the gas ones to keep the water flowing when its running or the pumps can burn out or something to that extent.

I have a Ridgid gas PW. It is awesome, wish I would have purchased it many years ago. Purchased it from Home Depot...good hunting sir

My wife purchased a lightweight, "Power Washer" brand, upright pressure washer at a local big box store. It's awful. While it's powerful enough once up and running, the plastic hose inlet broke off and it keeps tipping over. It's also finicky and sometimes won't start.

Spend a few more dollars and purchase one with metal parts.

I have a 13HP, Honda powered, 4000PSI, Northern Tool pressure washer with CAT pump. That thing "rocks". But, it's not good for light duty use.

First power washer I bought was a gas powered washer Campbell Hausfeld 1600 psi from Walmart. It was suggested by a co-worker since he had an electric power washer burn out on him.

In the 10+ years I owned it, I probably used it less than 10 times. It was way to noisy. When you are doing large jobs like powerwashing your drive way patio or bbq,I would always need to use hearing protection. Plus the powerwasher danced all over the driveway. I tried putting a brick on the bottom of it, but it still danced around. I had to make sure that it never got close to the cars in fear of it scraping the paint.

Fast forward to now. I usually wait until it's around fathers day and buy a cheap electric power washer for around $50. The problem with the cheap power washers is that they don't sell replacement parts, but it's only $50. I figure when it conks out I can sell the parts for $20.

I would start cheap and then upgrade after you know what you want. If money was no object, I would be looking at an expensive electric power washer, but the cheap ones fit the bill for me.

I would suggest an electric one, I see them for less than $100. You do not need a gas one for washing your car/detailing. The electric one is just easier. Let go if the trigger and the motor stops. Bring it inside when its cold. No gas in carb hassle.
