Well, my elcheapo Bolens 2 stroke trimmer seems to be dying. It has oil all over the bottom of the engine and only runs with the choke on. I have not a clue whats wrong with so I am looking to buy a new 4 stroke trimmer. I wanted to know what you guys recommend I buy.

False alarm! It appears that I was operating the choke in reverse.

I just replaced a 19 year old trimmer that I used in a mowing service. Shindaiwa is a top
of the line trimmer. All of the mowing services
around here use them more than any other brand.
I bought another Shindaiwa. Oh! The last one
was stolen. I was still running good. Shindaiwa
now also makes a 4 stroke. I saw that your trimmer was ok. Just thought I would post for others.

when it comes to 4 stroke-HONDA all the way but.....
dot use 10w30-i run my trimmer HARD and 10w30 comes out looking like water! 15w40 is the ticket.pennzoil LL 15w40 works for me

15-40 is a bit thick for that trimmer! How that engine moves oil around you dont want to use that thick of oil.

when you run the honda very hard(like i do for 6-7 hours)10w30 breaks down fast looks like water.for a regular home owner 10w30 is fine but for me 15w40 is the answer.
