JMHO.
My point had nothing to do with viscosity or wear. I've never heard of a worn out part time front diff. It's hard to wear out a rear diff. Just thinking it would be nice to get the oil hot enough every once in a while to maybe get rid of some moisture that may have accumulated. Although that's probably not a big deal either.

My used oil analysis on the front differential never showed any issues with moisture. While I am sure moisture can be an issue in a little used axle, it seems that I use mine enough to have no worries about it.

I have been thinking seriously about getting a cover for the rear diff and a transmission pan for our '08 Trailblazer.

Nissan has drain and fill plugs on everything.

I didn't know that Mag-Hytec covers come with an O-ring style gasket. That is way better than what OEM covers have.
