I supposedly have a guy to do my rear drums on 1994 dakota v-6 2wd w/9"? and 200k miles, rear leaks for 6 months. I want to have everything on hand so we do a complete job, currently have bought new Wagner shoes and wheel cylinders, AAP drums, semi synth fluid, spray cleaner, what hardware kits do you suggest? drum hw kit USA Brake, Wagner kit - much cheaper, both adjuster repair kits, other things as seen in AAP listing, many kits seem to overlap and be confusing, really want this to be last repair job, don't want to take something off and find I could have put new piece on if I just remembered to buy it.Suggestions? BITOG people seem to be pretty helpful and expert! I've gotten assists before! Thanks.

It sound like you have the parts covered okay.Check the rear backing plates they rot out badly on some vehicles while others seem to hold up for many years.I have no idea about your truck but its worth a look.
I had a 91 dakota. The shoes were silly cheap about $12, wearever silver from Advance, but had way better friction that the old ones that were glazed over.
Incredibly the old drums banged off although I don't think they were ever off in 15 years!
In addition to your list I would slather a little antisieze on the drums where they meet the hub, a favor for the next guy.
I used the $6 hardware kit; put it all in there even though it was only one spring that didn't look right.
First drum brake job? Take a digital picture or several as you (your guy) take it apart and refer to the opposite side if you get really stuck.

Amen on taking digital images. I just replaced rear brakes on my 2001 Sport Trac and the images were invaluable. I would replace all hardware speaking springs and the self adjusters and related mechanism. Amazingly enough rear brakes in a disc/drum brake system can, in some instances, last the life of the vehicle. What becomes an issue in the northern climates where road salt is used ends up being frozen adjusters. On bonded linings delamination can be an issue. That is the only reason besides frozen adjusters that I had to replace the linings. Put antiseeze compound on the adjuster threads.
